Capers Restaurant to Close After 28 Remarkable Years

Little Rock, Arkansas – March 18, 2025 – After 28 incredible years of serving the Little Rock community, Capers Restaurant will be closing its doors for the final time on Saturday, March 29, 2025. The restaurant, located at 14502 Cantrell Road, Little Rock, Arkansas, has been a beloved institution in the local food and wine scene since opening in the fall of 1997.

At the helm of Mary Beth Ringgold and her team, Capers Restaurant became synonymous with culinary excellence, offering an award-winning dining experience that has garnered numerous accolades over the years, including “Best Outside Dining,” “Most Romantic,” “Best Wine List,” and a coveted 14-year streak as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Over the years, it has developed a loyal following of food lovers and wine connoisseurs who have come to appreciate its dedication to quality and tradition.

Dan Kovach took the reins as owner and operator of Copper Grill after the closing of Cajun’s Wharf in 2019 where he had worked for two decades as general manager, succeeding Diamond Chef of Arkansas and Restaurant Proprietor of the Year, Mary Beth Ringgold. Kovach successfully navigated the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and, in 2021, assumed ownership and management of Capers Restaurant.

“I have had the honor of working with Mary Beth for over 20 years and taking the reins of Capers has been both a privilege and a responsibility I took to heart. The decision to close Capers is bittersweet for all of us, but we are incredibly proud of Caper’s legacy and what we leave behind. Our team’s dedication to excellence and our incredible guests have made Capers a special place. As we close this chapter, we look forward to embracing new opportunities while staying true to our roots,” said Dan Kovach, owner of Capers Restaurant.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our loyal guests, regulars, and catering clients who have supported us throughout the years. Your continued patronage has been the backbone of our success. To our incredible employees—some of whom have been with us for up to 28 years—thank you for your dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to excellence. We also want to thank our friends, family, and the entire community for embracing us as a local, independent restaurant. We have always valued our impact on this community, and it has been a true honor to serve you all.

The final service at Capers will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Patrons are encouraged to make reservations for the last chance to dine in and enjoy the culinary excellence that Capers has become known for.
